Macklemore é o artista mais ouvido por streaming em 2013

O primeiro sucesso da dupla Macklemore e Ryan Lewis foi "Thrift Shop", mas a faixa com o maior número de streamings no mundo, em 2013, foi "Can't Hold Us", segundo single do primeiro álbum da dupla, lançado em 2013. O ranking foi feito com base no serviço Spotify.

O reino da dupla não para por aí. O CD "The Heist" também foi o mais ouvido por streaming globalmente, além de a música "Thrift Shop" ocupar a terceira posição nas faixas mais ouvidas.

Na lista geral de artistas mais ouvidos globalmente, os americanos também ficam no topo, na frente de Avicii, Daft Punk, Eminem, Imagine Dragons e Jay-Z, nesta ordem.

Segundo o site da Billboard, um dos motivos pelo sucesso do grupo em 2013 é que os lançamentos são todos do início do ano, o que proporcionou que as músicas estivessem em streaming ao longo do ano todo.

Ainda segundo a publicação, caso "Can't Hold Us" tivesse sido lançada para streaming na mesma época que "Wake Me Up!" (em junho de 2013), do Avicii, a segunda teria ganhado a primeira posição.
